What a Wonderful World

My mind is flowing with so many ideas. I have gotten permission from my boss to start my own card line at the office supply shop! I am so thrilled! I am going to use my majestic collection of pens, Pelikan opaque watercolours, watercolour tubes, paints, photos, pencils, and the art of words to create beauteous cards. What a grand endeavour this shall be! My boss has also lent me a paper cutter and I have nice paper and envelopes. And yes, a mind flowing with ideas!

Also, I would like a typewriter. I have been feeling vintage lately, and have thus longed for the classic click of the typewriter, which I have never used before. So many things to try in the world! New and old! What a wonderful world.

Feather

and all she ever wanted was to be light as a feather,
floating in whatever direction the wind would carry her.

Happiness Is

happiness is dancing in the rain.
happiness is finding a new song to love.
happiness is visiting a new and mysterious land.
happiness is new love.
happiness is knowing you have a home.
happiness is a memory.
happiness is a friend.
happiness is kisses.
happiness is doing stupid stuff with your friends.
happiness is laughter.
happiness is a birth.
happiness is a story.
happiness is a bird.
happiness is a chase.
happiness is a dream remembered.
happiness is a cartwheel.
happiness is discovery.
happiness is a life.
happiness is a photograph.

The Devil Himself

Fellow Russians

I love my beautiful family, & I love these old pictures that I brought back from Russia a few months ago. The first one is my Babushka (Grandma) Kapitallina Fedorovna, who we just call Baba Kapa. She's my mom's mother. The second picture is my Dyedushka (Grandpa) Genadiev Mikhailovich, who we call Dyeda Gena. Yep, my mother's father. Babushka and Dyedushka are still very happily together. The third picture is my mom's younger sister (my aunt) Margarita Gennadievna. We call her Rita for short. I can't even begin to write the Russian word for "aunt" in English letters. (Hahaha, it ended up looking very strange.) These are just their first and patronymic names. Love my Ruskies. :)

I found a photographer who I think is just so wonderful.
I find the pictures so real and lovely at the same time.
Her gallery is mostly made up of women.

Check out her gallery:

Snazzing Up

I got a hair cut! Bangs and layers (as opposed to my old, perfectly aligned hair)!! Yes, I love it. I just colored it a deeper, darker brown, too. The color is supposed to come out in 28 shampoos though. We'll see. Now, now, now... presents! I originally wanted to wrap presents in newspaper comic pages, but I forgot to pick those up (since I don't get a newspaper at my house..... I have the internet for news, afterall!) so I used magazines instead. Snazziness. Click the picca for LARGENESS. Happy Christmas Eve.

Diverge

Ahh! My first shot at a vector-type art. This picca of me is like from three years ago. :) Anyway, I accidentally saved this in the wrong way, and the resolution got a bit messed up, but I guess it's okay anyway. Enjoyyyyyy.

Do You Fly?

Taken when the plane to Philly was close to landing (I'm sure a couple of you will remember). I made this bizznasty in photoshop. I did freehand the "do you fly?" writing. So I'm pretty pimpin' like that. <3

There are so many things that can fly in this world, and even though we can't, other things {like dreams, parachutes, and planes} can always carry us.

Nothing really seems real when you fall, does it?

Florence Broadhurst

I'm definitely adding this to my Netflix list.

Last Christmas (except not the song)

Last Christmas I painted this picca. It all came from my imagination, so I wasn't inspired by anything (except the beauty of this planet). Anyway, I painted it as a present for someone. 11x14, acrylic on canvas. And, of course the picture has glare and whatnot from the camera, so it's not exactly how it looks, but pretty darn close. :)

Winter on the Train

I drew this about 2 months ago. It's my first charcoal drawing. I forgot where I found my stock image, but what can I do? :)
Enjoy!
